Took me 2 tries, but I finally passed! Yes I might’ve passed by the skin of my teeth (I was 6 points away from failing) BUT I did it.
I’m so excited, and as soon as I get on my parents insurance, I’ll be taking my car for a nice cruise. And now that I have a car I guess I can start looking for a job, to pay for gas and modif- errr, I mean college.
As for now, I guess I’m going to start looking for all the parts and bookmark all the related Passatworld forums I need to maintain my Passat. The list of work that needs to happen is growing larger, and larger, along with the list of modifications I want to do.

Was 6 points away from failing? Amatuer. Try getting the maximum amount of points taken off and passing. Had I got one more point off I would have failed a second time.

Congratulations. Now get out there, and scan every intersection before you enter it. And remember to check your six when you come to a stop.

And adjust your god damn mirrors correctly! If you can see the side of your vehicle in your mirrors, you’re doing it wrong.

Agreed. It drives me crazy when I see people look over their shoulder when they change lanes.

I request pictures of your vehicle.

I’ll sometimes do it if it’s incredibly busy and packed traffic and I just want that extra confidence to know the lane is clear, but the other 99% of the time I never look over my should anymore as there’s just no need to.

Looking over your shoulder takes your eyes off the road on front of you (you know that, of course), and depending on the speed, you can cover a lot of ground in two or three seconds. It’s just dangerous.

Did they make you parallel park as part of the test? When I took my first license exam they did, and I completely, absolutely failed that part, I just couldn’t do it. It didn’t help that I had learned to drive in a ‘64 VW Beetle, but I was taking the test in my friend’s ‘67 Pontiac Catalina. Fortunately for me, the examiner let it slide.

Surprisingly no. However I did have to pull up within 12inches of a curb without hitting it. I forgot to signal, which was 16 of the points against me.
And on top of that, downside is I had to drive the schools Malibu, and I’m not nearly as familiar with the dimensions of the Malibu as I am with my Passat. However I still passed (I do think I hit the curb a tiny bit though, but shhhhh)
